La Alpujarra region South of Granada
This is a wonderful place to find tranquility and to paint. The location is a charming hotel with a beautiful swimming pool in a garden surrounded by cherry trees and mountains in one of three hamlets, where there are two bars that serve food. The walking is stunning, golden orioles sing in the trees, there are numerous paths or just soak up the countryside around the hotel where we will be painting and drawing every day. I have taken groups here many times and of course the well known book ' Driving over lemons' was set in this landscape and villages.

Taroudant and Essaouira
This painting, sketching and cultural holiday with Louise will be based in two places.
After many years of teaching sketching and painting in Morocco I am still excited by the colours, plants, people and landscapes! You will experience the beautiful Ecolodge of La Maison Anglaise in Taroudant with places to paint , good food to eat and wonderful excursions. From there we will go on for the rest of the holiday to Essaouira with its medieval streets, blue sea and fishing boats and souks of course. There is plenty to sketch and paint there!

Half board – breakfast and three course evening meal with wine. Hotel Mecina is a charming friendly, family run hotel with a pool set in extensive gardens and surrounded by tranquil little hamlets and mountain scenery. Trips to Granada, the coast and nearby villages can be arranged.

Deposit and balance
A deposit of £150 a person is required upon booking. The balance for the course is due eight weeks before commencement.
Cancellations
An administrative cost of £50 per person will be levied on all cancellations. For cancellations four to eight weeks before departure, a charge of 40% of the total cost is payable; two to four weeks 60%; one to two weeks 80%; less than a week 90% and once course has started 100% is payable.
Insurance
It is advisable that all participants arrange for their own travel and health insurance, and bring with them their European health card (EHIC)

'In the footsteps of Matisse '
South of France, Vence (Cote D'Azur)

No longer a painting holiday venue!
A delight for those who would enjoy the tranquillity and peace of Matisse's garden and villa in Vence where he lived and worked for five years. The Villa has three studios equipped with easels and boards and beautiful views over the old town which is only a ten minute walk away. This was such a success I decided to book it for another year. The Chapel of the Rosary which he designed and famous for the stained glass windows is across the road and the museum in town has a fine collection of Matisse's work as well as the Maeght Foundation nearby in St Paul de Vence which houses many major art collections and shows. Further galleries can be visited in Nice and the surrounding area. Vence has a swimming pool and the coast is only 30 minutes away.

Terenzano is a small working agricultural village overlooking the spectacular Alpi Apuane mountains of Carrara in the most Northern part of Tuscany. The romans called this lunigiana because of the luminosity on the marble reflected by the moon. The mountain views from the village are spectacular!
The village is about a ten minute drive from Fivizzano a small lively market town running many cultural and food events during the summer months. Also we can visit the Cinquiterre coastline by train or Lucca, a historic town to the South and East of Pisa.
The accomodation 'Il Vecchio Frantoio', ' The old Olive Press , is a collection of old architectural buildings reconstructed to provide a venue for painting , walking and writing. Up to seven people can be accomodated . there is a large upper terrace where we can paint and a lower one on the edge of an olive grove with a plunge pool.
